Project description
       

Sahara Investment is the facilitator for the implementation of the N$15 million “Fast-Track” Project for the Namibia-German Special Initiative for community driven development projects in specific regions of Namibia. Within the perspective of social consolidation, the initiative supports development activities at local and community levels in areas of Namibia where Germany acknowledges special historical and moral responsibility, such as Karas, Hardap, Kunene, Omaheke, Otjozondjupa and Erongo Regions. The task includes overseeing and facilitating the implementation of the following community enhancement projects:

  • installation and rehabilitation of boreholes
  • developing and rehabilitation of community gardens
  • rehabilitation of livestock quarantine camps
  • road rehabilitation
  • establishment of information and communication technology centres
  • installation of a radio transmitter
  • supply of livestock (goats and cattle) to communities
  • supply of fire-fighting equipment 

Project: Training of Water Point Committees, Water Point Caretakers

Project description

Sahara Investment has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry to train Water Point Committees, Water Point Caretakers and Local Water Committees for rural water supply at the various water points in the regions of Oshana, Oshikoto, Otjozondjupa and Kunene. The training is aimed at increasing awareness and responsibility in the use of rural water supply infrastructure.
